Willing to travel
Barb has been working with EQ since EQ3 and can present lectures or classes for your group. Classes could be hands-on or demonstrations and modified for your group.
The lecture is called “Evolution of a Quilt”
Come into the computer age and use your computer screen as a virtual design wall. Electric Quilt is the ultimate video game for quilters. Play with color, design, layout and print patterns before even cutting the fabric. No more making up fabric squares, only to find they aren’t “working”.
Come to see a quilt evolve from an idea to a design, to patterns and a finished quilt, all with just a few key strokes. Most of the commands are very similar to standard word processing tools and your smart phone. Traditional, modern and art quilts will be discussed.
For those not interested in computer design, Barb will show lots of quilts on the screen and in person to keep you entertained. She will also talk about creating a successful quilt design. Many of her quilts are tops only, to fit more into a suitcase and stay under the weight restrictions.
She has taught EQ classes at quilt shops, festivals, state guilds and “The International Quilt Festival” in Houston.
Barb has had works published and won awards with designs using the Electric Quilt (EQ) Program. She had a quilt designed using EQ travel with the Hoffman Challenge, a piece hang in Houston and another in the Ricky Tims “Kool Kaleidoscope CD. Her work has been featured in publications such as American Quilter, Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine and Quiltmaker Magazine.
Barb has a background in “Textile Design” from Iowa State University and designs patterns under “Gardners Delights Patterns“. Barb was inducted into the Colorado Quilt Council “Hall of Fame” in 2011. She is active in several local guilds and makes charity quilts.
