I love using EQ8 to design quilts and I enjoy teaching other quilters to use this fantastic software. I’m available for lectures or classes at your shop or guild, either in-person or virtual.

Classes available:
Introduction to EQ8 is a one hour lecture that can be taught in person or virtually. It covers the basics of what the EQ8 program can do. Topics will include an introduction to the program’s tools and functions, designing quilt layouts and borders, drawing and editing blocks, importing images, using the libraries to import new fabrics and blocks, and saving and sharing projects. Students do not need to own a copy of EQ8, during this presentation students will not need to follow along on their own computers.

EQ8 Fundamentals is a three hour, in person, hands-on class. The class will begin by explaining the basics of the EQ8 design software. Get oriented to the different icons, worktables, and terminology. You will work on creating your own quilt design and explore different layouts, border options, fabric selections, and block manipulations. Learn how to print your quilts, yardage, foundation papers, and templates. In the second half of the class, you will learn how to use EasyDraw to create your own pieced block or appliqué motif. Learn how to create a custom library of blocks and edit existing blocks from the EQ library or sketchbook. Students do not need to own a copy of EQ8 for this class. A free 14-day trial version of the software will be provided to students who have not yet purchased their own copy.
