Janice E. Frisch

Janice has been quilting and using EQ software to design her quilts since she was in junior high school and EQ4 was the current version. A recent addition to the product development team at The Electric Quilt Company, Janice assisted with the creation of BlockBase+ and the publication of Barbara Brackman’s Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns.

Janice is a quilt historian with a doctorate in Folklore from Indiana University. Her master’s thesis looked at the history and design styles of t-shirt quilts and she has designed and made custom t-shirt quilts as a business. Her doctoral dissertation on the influence of British and Dutch patchwork in the development of the block-style quilt in the United States was published in the International Quilt Museum catalog, American Quilts in the Industrial Age.
