Don’t have time to commit to the two-day beginner class? This half-day class is perfect for the beginner EQ8 user who is short on time!
This class will cover the basics for beginners looking for an overview of EQ8. Gain a better understanding of the three worktables, the Project Sketchbook, and how to navigate the workspace. Add items from the Block and Fabric Libraries to your project and build confidence in your design skills as Nancy guides you through the software.
Course Topics
- Understand EQ8 project files and the Project Sketchbook
- Navigate the Quilt, Block, and Image Worktables
- Create Horizontal and On-point quilts
- Add designs from the Block and Fabric Libraries
- Import fabrics from the internet to the Fabric Library
- Review printing options: foundation patterns, template, rotary cutting charts, and yardage estimates
Who Should Take this Course
- Students with little or no experience using EQ8 who want to learn the basics of the software
- Students who can work at a faster pace than those in the two-day Getting Started class

About EQ Academy
EQ Academy is a workshop for students wanting to learn how to use their EQ8 software. EQ8 classes are either half day (3 hours) or full day (6 hours) with an hour lunch break in between sessions. Each instructor brings years of experience and will provide practical content for the use of software.
How to fill your days: It is not required that you attend all days of the event. You may enroll in as many classes as you like. If you do plan to attend all days, we recommend filling your days with as many classes as you can. Click here to see a complete schedule (PDF) of all the classes being offered.
These are EQ8 computer classes. There will be no sewing during class time.
