Nancy Roelfsema

I started sewing at a very young age, making cloths for my dolls and later for myself. I come from a large family of 10 kids, so the only way to get a new outfit was to make it yourself. Technically, I made my first quilt when I was about 11 years old.

I have been teaching the art of quilt-making at local quilt shops in Grand Rapids for almost 30 years and over the last five years have taught at all the major quilt conventions; AQS, Festival and Road to California and continue to teach at local and national quilt guilds.

My YouTube channel, OnPoint-TV, was started 7 years ago, and now has over 67,000 subscribers at this time and is still growing with over 415 videos.

I started using the Electric Quilt design program when it was just EQ4. I love designing in EQ and teaching others about its fabulous abilities. Create your own designs or using one of the many designs in the program and making them your own.

I love to teach beginners and advanced quilting techniques – from efficient and accurate rotary cutting to creating your own fabric using many painting techniques, piecing; traditional, improvisational and paper piecing and quilting.  I haven’t found a quilting technique I didn’t love – from beginning to end – by hand and by machine – the art of & teaching quilt-making brings me joy.
