Class Overview
In this half-day class, Nancy guides you through the design process in EQ8 to create spectacular medallions that you’ll love. These quilts can range in style from traditional applique to modern improv, and everything in between! There are so many options when designing a medallion quilt, it can be tricky to know where to start. Learn what quilt layouts work best, and how to utilize the border options to make your medallions shine.
Course Topics
- Design layouts for successful medallion quilts
- Create borders that fit nicely around a central focal block
- Work with both pieced and applique designs
- Review printing options: foundation patterns, template, rotary cutting charts, and yardage estimates

About EQ Academy
EQ Academy is a workshop for students wanting to learn how to use their EQ8 software. EQ8 classes are either half day (3 hours) or full day (6 hours) with an hour lunch break in between sessions. Each instructor brings years of experience and will provide practical content for the use of software.
How to fill your days: It is not required that you attend all days of the event. You may enroll in as many classes as you like. If you do plan to attend all days, we recommend filling your days with as many classes as you can. Click here to see a complete schedule (PDF) of all the classes being offered.
These are EQ8 computer classes. There will be no sewing during class time.
